Q50 Sport 3.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,600 miles

Started to detect a light vibration while braking at around 4,500 miles, took it into my dealer to get it checked out. Service Adviser told me that because of how I drive, the rotors are warped and would require resurfacing. Advised him that my commute is less than 7 miles each way to work and that there is absolutely no stop/go city traffic in my suburbs at that time of night. Furthermore, I don't beat on my cars and have never had to change brakes or have rotors replaced on any other car that I had. Of course he didn't like that and just insisted on it being my fault to which I stood my ground. Eventually he gave in and said they would resurface all rotors.

When I came back to pick up the car, a couple other service advisers said that my complaint was and continues to be a known problem with this particular model. You can search the internet and find thousands of complaints just like mine. A recall was performed on the car (pins, pads, etc..) at the following service, but the problem returned again at about the 12k mile mark. Rotors resurfaced once again and now at 18k mile the problem is back.

Luckily my lease ends in less than a year and won't have to worry about it anymore - goodbye Infiniti!

  • Automatic transmission

Paid $471 to have brake pads and rotor replaced. They said nothing was covered under my warranty, but I leased the vehicle 13months ago, and I have never needed brake pads or rotors replaced on any vehicle that I have owned or leased out of the 10-15 new vehicles that I had over the years. The vehicle was "fixed" today, and tonight my panel screen went black, and wouldn't come back on. That was never an issue before it went to the Infiniti dealer for repairs.
