For the third time one of the windows on my Jaguar S-type has had a problem with the mechanism that opens/closes the window. The windows simply "falls" into the door. When you attempt to close the window there is a horrible crunching sound. The repairman said there has been problem with the brackets for these windows, which should have been recalled.

: the contact stated there was NHTSA recall campaign 00V359002 concerning the suspension, however, the recall did not correct the problem. The dealer was contacted, and they explained the recall repairs had already been completed once. The drivers side window regulator and motor needed to be replaced, the engine overheated numerous times. The air conditioner did not work.. updated 01/19/06.

A Jaguar 2000 was purchased on Dec 2003. It had 39000 miles. I have only put on 4000 miles on this car and the ball joint broke the other day and I was almost killed. The car was towed to a local foreign auto place and Jaguar refuses to repair the ball joint. Claiming they will only take the claim from a registered Jaguar dealer. So the car was towed today to momentum Jaguar on the sw freeway and I was told that the ball joint was replaced on the drivers side in April 2001 and it broke again"??in less that 43000 miles we have had 2 defective ball joints?" and the passenger side is defective as well and needs to be changed!! this is a serious defect and Jaguar is disclaiming any and all responsibility...it also has A/C problems and electrical problems. The sensors do not work and were replaced last year. The window regulators broke and were charged to me.. the rear passenger side of the car is falling off....it is always overheating. It is unbelievable and I only drove it 4000 miles in the last 2 years that I own it!!!!!!surely this is a lemon in the first degree!!!!

Three events of window mechanism breaking within a six month period. While parked tried opening window for air flow, all three times. Dealer was contacted and repaired the three windows. No tests for defects were done. Replacements costs approx $600, $355 and half of the third window replacement cost was covered by the dealer. Jaguar refused any statistics on this type of repair and refused referral to a supervisor. Window tint was damaged in each case. Jaguar refused any liability due to non-purchase of extended warranty, although extended warranty does not cover windows.
