problem #2

Aug 182010

X-TYPE

  • 174,000 miles
Noted a metal fatigue vertical separation in the right rear trailing arm of the rear suspension approximately 4 in long. No damage to the link is noted and appears to be a stress fracture. Complete fracture of the link could occur at speed if a road hazard, I.e. pothole or rough road surface is encountered causing the rear wheel to possibly separate from the vehicle. Manufacturer was notified directly but was told to take it to a dealer photos are available and car can be made available for inspection.
