I was parked in my lot and a neighbor dropped a cigarette behind my 1999 Jeep. There was ungodly gas smell and the puddle of gas that is leaking from tank ignited. I was luckily enough that I caught it at that time or it would have exploded. I just bought it and never smelled gas or thought the tank was leaking. I had to spenleaking. It is going to cost over 500 dollars for this to be fixed plus a tow bar. Please help me to see if Jeep company is responsible due to recall.

Cherokee 4WD 6-cyl

  • 52,000 miles
Gas gauge fails periodically. Spoke to dealer, and was told if it is not broke don't fix it. Truck failed to start 4 days ago. Has it towed to local garage. I have been told I have a major electrical problem, but tech has not yet figured it out. Jeep only has 52,000 miles. Now mind you, since I have purchased this Jeep in 1999, it has only been to a certified Jeep dealer for all services. All recommended work has always been completed. This was the first time I brought it somewhere else, because I had to get it towed.
