Cherokee Latitude 2.4L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 91,000 miles

Needing to get this problem fixed. Vibration is terrible in reverse. Have vehicle protection to 100k, not sure if this will be under it. Was wanting to know if other people have had this problem also. I see where some said it was TSB coming out of torque strut. Not sure what fix this is but don't want to have transmission problems or engine problems because of this!!!

For the last 7 months or so the car has been vibrating and not shifting right. I took it to the dealer Napelton and they said that it was fixed. A few weeks later the car started vibrating quite a bit when in reverse and or idle. Now the dealership is telling me that I have to replace the motor mounts.

Cherokee Sport 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission

So, my 2014 Jeep Cherokee start shaking badly when driving reverse from early this year, with around 20000 miles, along with shifting roughly, jerking at the start and jumping when stopping in front of a stop sign. Until one day it lost power when driving due to transmission failure. After about five minutes, I was able to start it and send to the dealer shop. However, the service man told me they couldn't service the car until the next week and told me that it's safe to drive it back. So I drove it back and wait. The next day, my wife drove it out with two kids, and the transmission failed again!!!

We feel so dangerous when driving this Jeep. Sent it to the dealer and performed the so-called recall. It seems the transmission failure is temporally alleviated. However, the other problems are still there. Shifting roughly, ridiculously. Still jerking jumping. The service time is ridiculously long. Don't know what to do.

When I put in reverse, the noise is unbearable. They can't figure out WHY, but they said most of Jeeps do that. Mine is the worst tho!

I noticed the problem after the first night of having the car. The problem occurs after sitting for a few hours and in reverse only. So, after 40 miles this started. The only way to repeat was to have them keep the car overnight. They were reluctant to give me a rental!! I went from an Escalade to Jeep so I tried to remain patient but I had felt taken already by this dealership! I have the 100,000 VIP extended warranty yet I had to get management to approve the rental. TSB coming out (torque strut).

NOT HAPPY because it was not fixed. I was told to wait until the recall before they could correct it.
