The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while at a stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle hesitated to respond before suddenly surging forward. The contact also stated that the vehicle would not operate in reverse or drive. The vehicle was restarted but failed to accelerate over 5 mph. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that the entire transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, while operating the vehicle in the rain the windshield defroster was turned on but the fog on the windshield would not evaporate.
