The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. While driving various speeds, the hood shimmied and shuddered. The contact was concerned that the hood latch would detach and impact the driver while the vehicle was in operation. Watertown Ford Chrysler (1600 9th ave SE, watertown, sd 57201, (605) 886-5844) serviced the hood by adjusting various knobs, which the contact felt was an interim remedy rather than a permanent solution. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact to get a second opinion. Billion Chrysler, Jeep, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda (3401 West 41st, sioux falls, sd 57106, 605-361-1919) inspected the vehicle, but did not provide a cause for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000.
