Starting sometime ago, I noticed water buildup inside the dome light cover after rain or melting snow, or after going through a carwash. This car is not garaged. When I move the car, the water cascades down over me, the center console, and the dash. Although the dome lights and switches and sunroof aren't affected, there is no exterior rust visible, and the headliner shows no stains or wear, this is bothersome and I don't know what damage is being caused inside the roof, if any.

I recently decided I'd had enough and took the car into a local Jeep dealer. Their service advisor listened to my description and opined that the drain tubes or channels inside the roof had gotten 'pinched', and they would have to pull the front headliner just to see if that was the case. If so, repair would cost around $700. I bought the car just months before Chrysler went to a 5-year warranty, and although I do have an extended warranty with an outside firm, their representative said they couldn't tell me if this was a covered repair until the dealer determined the exact problem.

I suspect the car came from assembly this way, and I feel Chrysler owes me at least a little relief on the repair price, especially if the drain tubes are the cause.
