The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Compass. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact noticed that the ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel. The brakes began to engage suddenly and independently. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic where the technician advised that the anti-lock brake module would have to be replaced. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 06V493000 (service brakes, hydraulic:anti lock:control unit/module) but was advised by the manufacturer that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.

Since I bought the Jeep Compass 2007 standard, the brake ground and I felt in my feet something wrong with the pedal (brake) and the driver seat belt, several times spoke with the dealer about this, they checked the car and all the time told me the brakes is ok, I send a letter to Jeep company to explain what was happened and nothing they did. Two days ago I was cleaned the car and found down the brake pedal a leak, I went to the dealer and they said: The brakes booster is broken, and I have to paid for that. Thanks to god I didn't have any accident, (fortunate) but I never felt me safety. The Jeep Compass brakes 2007 came bad.

While trying to stop on slippery surfaces 3 out of 5 times my ABS is non existent and my wheels lock up I first noticed this in December 2009. Last night I was driving on a icy snow covered road. I was coming to a stop sign, I applied my brakes and I didn't feel like I was stopping. I gave the pedal more pressure and I started to fishtail almost colliding with a parked vehicle. The next stop sign I came to ABS worked fine. After that my wheels locked up. This vehicle is a complete joke. Also note vehicle is equipped with good snow tires.
