The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the vehicle decelerated independently. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact shifted into neutral and back to drive and drove to her destination. The contact stated she had experience the failure on three different occasions. The vehicle was taken to huntington beach Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram located at 16701 beach blvd, huntington beach, ca 92647, (714) 841-3999, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the throttle body, spark plugs and accelerator pedal assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,629.
