Radio stops working when it wants and then comes back on, but only a few stations end up working then after. Only wants to work 40% of the time. Have not been to the dealer ship yet. Also the passenger seat when there is an actually passenger in the seat says there is not and the Jeep dings the whole car ride, even though they are buckled up. The car thinks that they are not.

Drivers seat belt randomly unlocks when traveling at any speed and on various road surfaces. I travel less than 2 miles to work and total on average about 20 miles/week. It has even happened on the highway while going 65mph (was not adjusting my position or moving in anyway). I purchased my 2016 Compass 4 months ago, and this has happened over 2 dozen times. It is also happening more frequently. I know the seat belt is clicked in properly because the alarm & dashboard light turn off. I hope it is investigated asap before is causes serious injury or fatality. Consumer stated I don't have any service records because I haven't had it serviced yet. I purchased it mid June from berlin city in portland who performed a 120 point inspection and seat belts were found to be fine. I was trying to find out if it was a trend and it was something that Jeep will own and take care of fixing.

Randomly the chime will come up along with the seat belt sign when a passenger is in the front seat with the seat belt on. Have not had the seat belt come out yet but would not like to have that happen.

The passenger seat belt mechanism does not lock. It appears to be locked in but when you pull on it, it does not stay in the locked position. In the event of an accident the passenger will not be protected. My sons friend was in the passenger seat of the vehicle and it came unbuckled when they came to a stop at a light. I do not see any recalls at this time and have found complaints to Chrysler about the problem with no resolution.

I was involved in an accident on February 28, 2019 when I veered off into a ditch, my vehicle flew into the air after hitting a driveway, and flipped at about 55 mph. I was driving on a rural farm to market road. I was driving and the only one in the vehicle. My seatbelt never locked as I wrecked. It was buckled but never engaged. I submitted to Jeep for review and they denied my claim and said the seatbelt was working properly. My seatbelt was all the way stretched out and even frayed at the top where the loop is. My L1 instantly blew up into my spinal cord and I suffered severe injuries.

The passenger seat belt does not seem to full engage when I click my seat belt. I had noticed when we came to a sudden stop while driving to a nearby store and the self belt came undone right after I had clicked it in. Thankfully the convenience store is only a mile or so away on a main highway route. I strongly believe this is a safety issue and since then have made sure to double check by pulling on it to see if it's fully engaged. There are time where it'll keep coming undone and I have to keep clicking it on until it fully engaged.

The front passenger seat belt malfunctions when a person is sitting in the seat. I have taken the vehicle several times to the dealer & it is still not corrected. I have an open investigation with Chrysler corporate too. Corporate has acknowledged there is a serious problem with all 2016 Jeep Compass seat belts on the front passenger side but still expect people to drive their vehicles knowing there is a problem & they say the vehicle is unsafe to drive. If a person is sitting in the seat the alarm will go off indicting the seat belt needs to be fastened when in fact it is. It will also think a person has a seat belt on while the vehicle is in motion when they really don't. I have video of this & eyewitnesses. I have question the airbag linkage to the seatbelt malfunctioning if it can cause the airbag to fail or malfunction & corporate is unsure if this is possible.I have actually tried to trade the vehicle & cannot because all other dealers are aware of this issue and refuse to take it. I have been fighting this since I have owned the vehicle which I bought March 2016. After I bought it I took it back to the dealer within an hour & a half and informed them of the seat belt issue and they blew it off and have continued to blow it off until corporate got involved but both sides can't fix or figure out the problem & will not take the vehicle back on trade as they have admitted it is an unsafe vehicle due to the seatbelt on the front passenger side.' I am also having issues with the fuel economy as it is significantly less than what was advertised and what is posted on corporate's website. I have receipts and video to show as proof. The dealer blows this off too & refuses to look into it. Corporate has no comment on the fuel economy. It's advertised to get 30 on the highway & I barely get 24-25. All issues with the seatbelt has been while driving above 15mph.

Four separate occassions of seatbelt lights and chime coming on while all occupants were properly belted in. Dealer has replaced all components of the seatbelt system, and it continues to happen. Nothing done yet has repaired the problem. The dealer currently has the vehicle in their shop until they think it's repaired again. It went to the shop in October and December of 2016, again on the 13th of September of 2017 and the 21st of September. 4 times.
