The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the hood latch would pop up without warning. He stated that the safety latch would prevent the hood before flying open as he would be forced to pull over and manually push the hood shut. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
