Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2L V8

Alarm goes of when I unlock from driver's side with a key. Doesn't go off when I open passenger side with a key. Sometimes this doesn't work and I have to go through a complicated procedue which involves the tailgate and a plug under the dash to the right of the steering column and unlocking the tailgate.
