The contact owns a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 55 mph, a warning light illuminated, a chime sounded, and the gas gauge indicated that the vehicle was out of fuel. The gas gauge then went back up, indicating that fuel was present and the warning light dimmed. The weather was sunny and approximately 80 degrees. The contact believes that his vehicle should be included in recall # 97V194000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly). The current and failure mileages were 25,386.
