I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. 6 cy. This is the 3rd time my heater resistor has shorted out and melted the wires on the resistor board. Which instantly turns power off to heater and blower. Doing my research I have seen the same problem on 1999 Jeeps where the wires heat up so much that they get too hot at times and melt, or the socket on the box melts.

The correct fix is to pull the whole dash apart and replace the wiring harness with a new one that came out in (April/May 2007) from Jeep. And replace the heater resistor. So I am mad that this is a recurring problem and should have a recall on this issue. Has anyone heard about a recall on this issue? I feel that Jeep should pay for this recurring problem. Feeling frustrated.
