Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L

I heard that this was a persistent and recurring problem for my make and year of vehicle and for the production period. I called Jeep and they told me that my VIN was not part of the recall. I have also read that the recall was not VIN specific. I think Jeep should compensate me for my repair cost.
