2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with heated seat issue. Consumer states that the vehicle has been taken to the dealer several times for the heated seat problem. She also states that there is a wire or rod poking through the driver seat. The consumer also stated the transmission failed, there was a problem with the power steering, the blend doors in the heating system, the passenger side window fell down in to the door panel, and the hood struts failed. The consumer stated the heated seat issue had been recalled. The engine light illuminated and it was determined that the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced.

Steering became difficult to turn while driving at low speeds. Dealer tested and found that the steering gear came apart internally sending metal fragments throughout the entire power steering system. Dealer found it necessary to replace power steering pump, gear box, radiator fan because it is hydraulically ran through the power steering pump, the return and pressure power steering hoses ect. Dealer repaired at a cost of $2846.53 plus tax. Later I found out there was a recall on the steering gear box however our Jeep was not part of the recall due to the VIN #.

The steering on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee becomes hard at times when I am driving or attempting to park in a parking space. Your web site lists this problem as a recall for this vehicle. I never received a recall notice from Chrysler Jeep, so I called 1-24-06 and was told by Chrysler that the recalls were VIN number specific and my Jeep was not one of them. Chrysler is not taking any action at this time to address this issue for me.

Had a squeaky power steering system on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee right from the first day of purchase. Jeep refused to correct the squeak, saying that this was a characteristic of this model.
