Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 158,000 miles

Recently check engine light- oil pressure sensor went bad- after research found to be another common Jeep problem. I have never had this occur in any other vehicle I have owned. Another poor quality part. Jeep dealer price$45.00 for part, 120.00 labor. found part on-line for $9.00 same oem part. Un-believable that my $45,000.00 Jeep 2006 jeep overland hemi is built so poorly. My older 1996 Jeep GC lasted 300,000 miles-sold -still running, with only minor repairs needed. I did this repair my self- had to drop front skid plact 1/1/16 deep socket, 20 min later done. 30 min repair-how can jeep want $120 for labor?

Guess you wont be seeing the newer jeeps(2005 and up) ever in the high mile club.

Grand Cherokee Laredo 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,234 miles

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo check engine light keeps coming on, started back in July, took to dealers and they could not find an error code, said it was a fluke and reset switch, a few months later did it again, told back in and again could find nothing wrong, they said if they guessed it could be the TCM but weren't sure, each visit cost me $120, In Sept, Oct and Dec same thing happened and I found a way to reset check engine light and all was well however this past December check engine light came on, vehicle would not shift out of 1st and traction control light flickered on and off, also Resistor pack for heater blower motor blew out again. Jeep states its the TCM but again they can't say for sure, just guessing, Really with all the problems you would think Jeep would fix this issue, I also get a check engine light when I go through the car wash as well, POS Jeep no service and no real concern for the customer, Will NEVER buy again.

Grand Cherokee V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 96,000 miles

On my way home from work the the engine light came on with no warning, the car seems to be acting ok but the light won't turn off, even after i shut the car down and turn it back on. This is not the first time this has happened! and i'm tired of worrying whether or not i'll get stuck on the road somewhere..

Grand Cherokee Larado 3.7L, V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 91,000 miles

Since I have had this car, almost 2 years, I have replaced o2 sensors 3 times. Each time car ran like crap. Last time, in November, mechanic replaced, I left with car, engine light came back on, car running bad again. Took it right back. Mechanic tried again, same problem. Mechanic called another mechanic down the street who came over, changed them again, same problem. They finally concluded they didn't know what to do. They worked on it till it ran good, but engine light still on. It has been on since november, but running fine. Tried having it turned off at Auto Zone, came right back on. Gas mileage is ok, not great but better than before I changed the o2 sensors. I worry there is something else going on and that I am damaging it by not gettiing "IT" fixed, whatever "IT" is. Car seems to have gremlins. I have had other problems, like windows going up and down without pushing buttons and funny noises that come and go. Weird car! I had a 2004 Buick Rendevous before this, 265,000 miles with only minor issues. It could not however carry my husbands handicap scooter. We tried and it started bending the frame. So we got the Jeep for that, and it has worked good for that.

Grand Cherokee 3.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

I have had check engine light on in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I guess what I was told by the auto mechanic was that the 2006 Jeep Cherokee has a automatic Mercedes-Benz transmission, so you better get out your checkbook if you have any transmission repairs.
