Since new, at gear shifts, engine looses power. From dead stop, engine hesitates as if it is not getting enough fuel. RPM drop as high as 800 between gear shifts.

I bought the car in February 2011 with 18,000 miles and after a couple of months I noticed a severe hesitation with the acceleration. I have taken it at least 3 times to the dealer, the first time they took the transmission out and worked on it, they said that should have fixed it but the problem still remained. They then told me there has been several complaints of the same problem with no "fix" as of yet. That has been over 2 years ago.
I will call them periodically, they tell will tell me there still isn't a fix, they should have one in the next 6 months. I recently called again to got the same answer. This is really not acceptable to have an expensive vehicle well over 2 years with these problems and no one can fix it. I'm also having problems with the car starting...
Update from Jun 24, 2014: And now there is a brake recall on my car...
