problem #2

May 222015

Grand Cherokee Limited 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,999 miles

In addition to the camshaft problem I reported, all of a sudden today I get the "Service 4*4" light come on. I turned off the vehicle and turned it back on, drove a few miles, parked and turned off the car again. I then restarted the car, then put the car in reverse and the warning light came on again.

I'm calling the dealership after the weekend and will update this and my other complain after that.

Grand Cherokee Overland 3.0L Crd

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,250 miles

15000 miles, 18 month on the road, never taken offroad.

Suddenly a "4x4 Service" warning light appears every time the engine is started and the car is put into Drive.

Apparently the problem is a faulty motor in the rear axle/LSD, cost £1200 ($ US 2000) to replace.

Work was carried out under warranty.
