Jeep went into a ditch January black ice, car had $8000 worth of damage.. Jeep fixed it we get the car back a few weeks ago..I noticed a drip saw some steam/smoke from engine towed it to jeep (no warning lights nothing) they tell me there’s coolant from a cracked rad hose that has coated my reservoir and got coolant in my engine?

We just got the jeep back 2 weeks ago.

Grand Cherokee LX Diesel

Failure of EGR is a known problem with this diesel engine. I was paid $3150 and given a warranty till 120,000 miles after having the injector manifold replaced for free. Hopefully, Chrysler/Jeep will honor it's warranty! I was lucky this happened near the same dealership that did the injector manifold replacement earlier. The dealer has been great but now under new ownership. They had 4 good diesel mechanics but one left and one died suddenly last month. I was told ordering the part takes a while also.

Update from Jun 11, 2022: Glad warranty was extended to 120,000 miles! Knowing EGR failure problem was helpful. Dealer was great and appropriately replaced swollen oil cooler hose while engine under repair saving me a future problem. Cost for EGR covered completely. Paid $248 for oil cooler hose replacement. Benefits of all new coolant and some oil. Mild diesel smell after engine sat for 2 weeks. Parts are available in Orlando, and this was the first EGR replacement dealer had ever done for this engine. Mechanics were helpful as well as service manager and agent.

Update from Aug 25, 2022: EGR replaced but repair was done poorly. Fuel pump connections not tightened so diesel leaked everywhere. Had two hoses tightened but diesel still leaking. Is this a sign of fuel pump failure??
