Our 2014 jeep was parked outside a store for 40 minutes, when it started to beep like a car alarm. Since we don't have one, we looked to see what was happening. The lights were now flashing. The interior was filled with rolling black smoke. I opened the lift gate and black smoke poured out. An employee from Verizon had come out with a fire extinguisher, and opened the driver side back door. The smoldering of the passenger side back door erupted into a flaming mess. He put the fire out, but the car was totaled. I was told by several men there it was the wiring in the door. We had a perfectly working car with new tires, full tank of gas, and no car payments. We now have blue book value which buys a very poor used car, or we can go into debt again. This year model jeep has had many electrical problems. Since this is the first one in the door, no one wants to admit responsibility.

We are furious. We could have been home with the car parked in the garage, gone to bed, and our home could have gone up in flames. We want other jeep owners to be warned!
