Grand Cherokee Overland V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 83,000 miles

3rd time now for the same issue. When driving down the road dash went black. This time instead of stopping I kept driving. The dash came back on - check engine light on - check suspension system signal on. Then service shifter - then service transmission - then goes away - then dash goes black.

On the third day of this when backing out of a parking spot - dash went black and car would not move, then finally after about 10 minutes got it to shut off and restart. I drove about 100 yards - dash went black and the car would not move. After another 10 minutes I finally got it to restart and move but, would not shift up from D1.

I called for a tow to the dealer - it's been there now almost 2 weeks. They say - yes, they detect a problem and believe its in the wiring harness. But it's still not fixed????

Grand Cherokee

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,600 miles

Bought my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 12/15 from a dealership. In October 2016 I noticed the navigation screen had a crack in it and some of the functions would not work like heat, navigation, rear defrost. I did not damage this unit , the car only had 3,600 miles on it, garage kept.. Dealership told me Chrysler would not cover it do due "damage". This becomes a he said-she said conversation. I bought an extended warranty, the best plan but they same that it should be covered by Chrysler as the car is not even a year old. I called Chrysler customer service. They are going to contact the dealership to try to work something out. The cost of replacing just the front of this unit is 1,000.00. Will update this post when I find out what they work out. I will also report this defect to the NHTSA

Grand Cherokee Outlander 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,500 miles

While driving down the road the radio volume suddenly went up and the touch screen stopped working and the volume knobs did not work. Had to pull over, stop the engine to let the computer reboot to get it working.

touch screen feature stopped working

My 2015 Grand Cherokee Jeep has had a few issues with the Radio - The hacking update thing which I updated the firmware upgrade with the USB stick, but now it says, "There was a problem while starting the head unit".

Everything on the jeep is stock and nothing tampered with.

I call for service in my area and the next appointment isn't ready until April 2016?

No backup camera, No Music, No heated Seats, No Cooling Seats, No GPS, No Custom AC settings, No Hands Free Phone, NOTHING!.

2 months !!!??? They got some serious service problems and will never get repeat buyers at this service level. I just hope my wife doesn't back into something or run over someone because her camera no longer works.

NEVER AGAIN!

Grand Cherokee Overland V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

Bought a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland less than 6 months ago. Had 2 recalls already and now this. The touch screen turns on, but you cannot use it. If you attempt to touch the screen nothing happens. The radio does not work. No sound at all. No navigation. Piece of advice to anyone wanting to spend a lot of money, stay away from Jeep. Had a Lexus for 9 years, never had to take it in to be serviced for a problem once. Had this for less than 6 months and it will be the 4th time I am taking it in. Piece of garbage. Dont get fooled with all of the technology, the transmission is clunky and awful as well.
