My high-end interior on my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee looks like I just picked it up from the junkyard! It just keeps getting worse. I called Chrysler and they will not do anything about it. What a bunch of hooey!! And in the area in which I live, I cannot find Anyone who will even take on the project of repairing it. I'm so sick of big corporations being able to rip people off and get away with it. Someone needs To hold Chrysler accountable. This is not an isolated incident, It is happening To Jeep owners all over the country.

Started as a little wrinkle and over the last few months the problem has moved all the way across the dash. Even bought the extended warranty from Chrysler and these issues aren't covered. Horrible to pay for upgraded interior that has latent defects.

Update from Oct 15, 2022: I've been searching the problem and now Chrysler really needs to fix this. It has been reported that the loose leather of the dash pad will not allow the airbag on passenger side to deploy properly.

Grand Cherokee High Altitude 3.6L

I paid what I think is big bucks for this vehicle new and it is now just out of warranty, and this occurs.

Jeep doesn't want to take care of it. I would tell them; I have had 3 Jeeps all in the high dollar price range and I will give them a big guarantee, I will never ever buy another vehicle from this manufacture.

The dashboard falling apart like it is, is right in front of the driver every time you are in the vehicle. I own it and I will never forget seeing it and what they will not do to repair it.

Grand Cherokee SRT, Night Edition 6.4L

I noticed that the dash looked different in the contours one year ago well within the full warranty. It wasn't until after the warranty ran out that I realized what was happening. Currently my extended warranty won't cover it and it continues to worsen. Very unhappy to spend nearly $80,000 on a SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee and have this problem in less than 3 years of ownership. I won't buy a FCA product again if this does not get covered.

Grand Cherokee High Altitude 5.7L V8

2016 Grand Cherokee High Altitude with leather dash and within the last few months the dash is now lifting and separating. Dealer wants 3K to replace and FCA, Jeep customer service and Mopar extended warranty all state that the dash is only covered within the first 3 years/35K miles. You would think buying a pre-owned warranty and only having the Jeep for 5 months would allow some concession, but not according to Jeep.

Starts insidiously. Then one day you glance over to the passenger side of the car and the leather covering the dashboard is starting to look like a roller coaster. Really makes the car look cheap. Obviously this issue will continue to get worse. I'm looking for solutions at the moment.

Took my Jeep in for service and the dealership told me to call FCA. FCA logged my complaint and said there was nothing they could do. Dealership is recommending I trade in my Grand Cherokee for a new vehicle and they'll not deduct the cost of fixing the dash from the trade-in price.

leather covering coming off dashboard

I just purchased a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland (high altitude), one of Jeeps higher packages and the leather dash is coming completely off! It’s stinking back, I have NO idea what to do. I called Jeep and they won’t cover it :( - what the hell is going on?! They did a recall for this issue for the years 2011-2014 for the same issue and now the newer one has it too!!! Make me pissed especially when you pay more for a higher end package!

This problem has been brought to the dealer attention a year and a half ago. They tell me the manufacture is looking into the problem. Poor customer service to get shoddy craftsmanship problems like this repaired, and it will will keep me from buying another Jeep product.

If there is ever a lawsuit against Jeep addressing this problem; I'm in!

This is an awful case where we pay for this upgrade to leather dashboard, for it to be an eye sore. Everyone who rides in our car notices and it’s embarrassing. High Altitude is almost the highest model of Jeep Grand Cherokee. Shouldn’t Jeep stand behind their most expensive model and fix this issue??
