Grand Cherokee Limited 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,000 miles

I have brought the car to the dealer for my issue which they were unable to re-create. The pre-set radio stations all reset to default. The XM Radio stations used to change to other stations which were never previously saved.

Now the new issue is the screen turns blue and loses all control of radio and temperature controls. Sometimes the navigation freezes, and the whole radio just re-starts randomly.

I have made a second appointment, this time with photographs and videos to show them of the issue occurring, and we will see what happens.

Seriously? I received the UConnect 8.4 software directly from JEEP to update the software so that I can update the Navigation system maps. Half way through the Uconnect update, (sometime after 51%...) it goes black. Totally dead. I tried everything re-set the system but no use. I called Arrigo Chrysler/Jeep in Sawgrass, FL and I have to bring the vehicle to them for troubleshooting. Currently they are running a 3 day bottleneck in troubleshooting. So crazy! Apparently Chrysler knew about this software issue and continues to issue it. I am so pissed. I love my Jeep. This seriously hurts my opinion of Chrysler/Jeep for sure!

Wow - it’s just annoying that there’s no radio or music functions or navigation, especially since I just moved and used it to learn area. Just simply a “pain in the ass”!

uconnect system is freezing up uconnect system is freezing up uconnect system is freezing up uconnect system is freezing up

This is the second UCONNECT system that is in the vehicle. The original one would freeze up & jump all over the place. The current system was installed last year. Yesterday, the system froze up where I had access to navigation, AC, radio, and the rear backup camera.

Today when I had started the vehicle the system was working & then after I had made a stop & restarted the vehicle I could not operate anything. The screen froze up & I had no radio, no navigation & I could not control the temperature in the vehicle. The seats started heating up. Once I returned home from my errands, the screen would not shut off after shutting the vehicle off. This really sucks especially, being that this is the 2nd UCONNECT system.

Update from Apr 27, 2021: The pictures attached show two different times, one on the UCONNECT system, the time it froze up and (2) the current time that was showing on the instrument cluster.. This happened yesterday. However, this morning it was back up and running.
