Grand Cherokee Trailhawk V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,200 miles

I purchased the new 2019 GC Trailhawk on 3/11. That evening, I noticed the interior dome lights were not going on when I opened the door. I figured it was either the light wheel on the dash that needed to be adjusted or some setting on the dash computer that needed to be turned 'on'. Over the next couple days I tried all sensible and logical solutions.

First I confirmed the lights worked by pressing the map light button and actual dome light button (which is the light itself) to confirm it wasn't the bulbs. I then checked the fuse, which was fine. I then noticed, to further verify it wasn't the fuse, that my tailgate lights would go on when door was opened and dim off after about a minute as they are intended. I tried navigating thru the dash computer settings...nothing. I tried checking and rechecking the interior dash light adjustment wheel on the dash...nothing.

I Googled and YouTubed for a couple days...nothing. So as soon as my scheduled permitted I made an appointment with the dealer. It when into the service department on 4/1. They gave me a loaner and sent me on my way. I was optimistic that they would resolve the problem in no more than a day. Today is 4/10 and I still do NOT have my GC back!! The dealer has been on the phone with Jeep engineers.

Supposedly they replaced some module on Monday/Tuesday, but I still haven't got word that issue has been resolved. I can't believe I'm going on close to 2 weeks without my Jeep all over Interior Dome lights not working?!?!? I've had the vehicle for only 3 weeks before it when into service and it has only 1200 miles. I traded in a Chevy Suburban for the GC and now I'm stuck in a Nissan Rogue Loaner. From a Suburban to a Rogue in 3 weeks!!! NOT A VERY GOOD 1ST EXPERIENCE WITH THE JEEP PRODUCT...
