This problem came when Jeep Ray Brandt Dodge in Harvey LA did the safety recall of my Jeep Liberty 2003 about the gas tank and the airbag. Nothing electrical is working anymore, the windows, the fuel pump, etc... they said it was like that before and asked me to pay a test of $130.

. I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade which I’ve had since 2004. Since that time, I’ve had the rear window repaired at least 6 times for the same issue. The problem is that the window will fail – weather you use it or not – eventually and fall into the door frame. I’ve had this happen when parked, when using the window or just driving on the highway. It happened a few days ago again because my wife rolled the rear window down by accident (I haven’t used either rear window since the last repair done a few years ago!).

I contacted jeep about this after spending around $1000 to get this fixed - $400 per repair. They repaired it for free after giving me the standard runaround and saying they’re sorry for my frustration. They only responded after I posted on their Facebook page. Well, since it happened again I tried contacting customer support, but they said sorry, but no. After a few days trying to plead my case they said, sorry, but no.

I don’t want something for nothing. I just want the problem fixed once and for all. It’s a known problem and can be found all over the internet. My Liberty has been recalled many, many times for all kinds of problems, so I don’t understand why this one is any different. I didn’t even ask them to fix the window. Really, I just wanted it jammed shut so that I don’t have to deal with this anymore.

The first time a window went out the jeep was still under warranty. Since then I have had to have the drivers window fixed 3 times and it just broke again on Mar 31, 2016. The front passenger window has been replaced 2 times. The 3rd time, about 3 years ago, my grandson fixed it with duct tape and it is still working.

The back passenger window has been repaired 2 times. The 2nd time I had the mechanic just put in a piece of pvc to lock the window in an upright position. The 4th window has not failed yet. At almost $500 a pop this window issue has been a financial problem. I contacted Chrysler at the first 3 window fails to ask if this was a recall and they said it wasn't. Only the first fail was covered under warranty.

Just purchased this vehicle and now I know why the original owner had the rear windows wedged shut. They blew it off as an easy problem to fix, HOWEVER, after replacing the rear driver's side window with a new replacement, IT ONLY WORKED THAT DAY! I will have to remove the 'new' replacement and return it to hopefully get my money back and I will return the rear passenger's side replacement rather than attempting the same frustrating repair. Does ANYONE know of a stable replacement(s)?

I really like my jeep. We've had it since July of 2006.We had lived in idaho when we got this car.The first time this problem occurred was after we moved back here to Kansas in 2008.It was in September 2008 we took it to a chrysler dealership to get it fixed as we have an extended warranty on it so we didn't have to pay anything but it fell down the very next day so they fixed it again. This makes the third time it has fallen down. we don't have any kids at home and don't use this window. The warranty is supposed to be for 100,000 miles or 7 years. We have had this car going on 5 years and the milege is less than 60,000.The warranty people won't honor it this time so the problem remains unfixed. We are on a very limited budget as my husband is disabled and on social security. we have no way of coming up with the money to get this done. i am with the others here and think that there should be a recall from jeep to fix these problems without cost to the owners of these 2003 Jeep Liberties.

both rear window regulators broke twice, each one was around $300 right now both are broken since I don't have the money to fix them. Browsing through the internet I found out there were a lot of people having the same problem. Chrysler should have done a recall a long time ago of this problem. This is why a lot of people refuse to buy american made cars and go and buy imports

This is the 4th power window I have had to replace in my Jeep Liberty sport.

They cost $350.00 each. This has happened 4 separate times to the 2 back windows.

I have spent $1400.00 on windows. I would like to know if anybody is suing Chrysler for this. This is positively ridiculous not to mention quite expensive. I will never buy another Chrysler product because of this.

I am furious.......4 windows replaced in my Jeep Liberty in the last 3 years! They KNOW it's a problem obviously and why are these vehicles NOT recalled for the problem! WHY IS THERE NOT SOMEONE CONTACTING OWNERS TO FILE A CLASS ACTION SUIT!

THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE!

I've loved my Jeep Liberty but this problem is WAY MUCH and there seems to be no solution at hand! $475.00! EACH TIME! If I wanted that much wind I would have purchased a rag top! THE DEALERSHIP IS TOTALLY UNSYMPATHETIC! I WILL

NEVER, EVER, EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM GO JEEP!

IS ANYONE OUT THERE LISTENING.....DOES ANYONE EVEN CARE?????????

The first window broke in August of 2009, and believe ti or not, the other one happened July of 2010. I currently have both windows glued shut. Bad news, according to the service tech at the dealership I where I purchased the car, this was happening because of a bad design by Chrysler. Of course they didn't offer to fix it, that's why I'm on a mission to hold them responsible. this car cost of over $27,000. They need to be held accountable for their mistake.

This is the 3rd time the rear left passenger window has broken. The plastic part just cracks. It just broke on July 11 for the 3rd time. The other passenger window has broken twice. I was told by a Jeep mechanic that this is a problem with Jeep Liberty. Why don't they do a recall on this. I really like my Jeep Liberty. I just can not keep replacing this part for the windows. Three times in just over a year on one window and twice in one year on the other window. What do we need to do to get help with this problem from the Jeep.

The rear window on my 2003 jeep is going again 3rd time for the passenger side and 3rd time for drivers side. Last time fixed was in June 29 2009 after I called Daimler Chrysler Motors Co. They fixed it through the dealer as a favor fix for free. Now it is going again. I called them again and it is being researched if I get a free fix again for a total of 6 fixes on the windows.

We all need to complaint to the maker of Jeep. Number is below. 1-800-992-1997. If we do not complain there will never be a recall on this problem. I asked them if this is a known problem and they said it was not. So lets get out there and let Jeep know others are having a problem too. We just do not complain to the dealer we have to complain where is was made. BOO for the 2003 Jeeps windows...

I love everything about my 2003 Jeep Liberty except this annoying window issue! My rear window for no reason at all just fell into the door and would not roll up! I do not have children or adults that even use my back seat or window! It cost $375 to fix as the regulator had to be replaced!

The best way to fix without paying a lot of money - take the screw out in door handle and arm rest on rear doors. then easily pop door panel off with flathead screwdriver there are 9 plastic snaps pins. take off white plastic. get 2 heavy duty zip ties and push window all the way up. you can see 2 small holes close to the top of door run zip tie through one hole and out the next. need extra set of hands can do in less than 1 hour by self or faster with 2 sets. I just did both of mine in about 30min today with extra set of hands. no tape and no $300-$600 dollars. I would say it will cost you about $5-$10 dollars and about 1hour of time.

I guess I am like most posting up a problem with my 2003 Jeep Liberty. It really is a shame that it is not a recall because it is not a safety related issue. I really like my jeep, but they have definitely opened my eyes as to their business practices and morals. Like many other, I said I would always own a jeep, but after reading all these complaints I think that maybe a Schwinn might be a better choice!

I bought my 2003 Jeep in May of 2006. Great little Jeep! Loved it!! Within 1 month of purchase the drivers side window stopped working properly. I took it to my mechanic and it cost $215.00 to repair. Once I had it repaired it never worked the same again. Now when I roll it down it gets stuck to the rubber at the bottom of the window and makes one hell of a loud screeching noice. Now I have to hold the rubber out while I operate the window to keep it from making that god aweful noise. Then in 2007 the passenger rear window stopped working as well. It cost $240.00 to fix that one! I got it repaired and now it makes a loud humming noise when going up and down. Then last week my driver side rear window stopped working.....I dont even freaking use that window!! I have had it!! I grabbed some tape, and said screw it! Now I can only wait for the passenger side front window to go out!!!!!!!! WHY NO RECALL????????

I love my jeep so much, no other complaints at all!! I cant buy another one of these things because of the freaking windows! Unreal! WTF

Since purchasing my Jeep Liberty one year and a half ago, I've had to replace the drivers side rear window regulator "twice" and now the passenger's side rear window has to be replaced. What I find most disappointing and "corrupt" is that when mentioning this problem and my outrage on having to replace the same regulator twice to the Jim Click Jeep dealership here in Tucson, I was told "it'd just too bad" and the sales associate admitted this was a known problem by the manufacturers of this vehicle. The sales associate went on to say that at that time, there was no recall on this problem because it was not considered a "safety" problem. Now, I have to replace the passenger's side rear window regulator. My question is "exactly how is this NOT a safety hazard? Someone could reach into your car and steal something inside or the car itself and most important, cause harm to those in the car. Jeep Liberty should make known to all consumers that this is a problem; recall Jeeps with this problem and fix the problem free of charge. In addition, they should reimburse those of us who've repeatedly had to pay to replace window regulators. Quite frankly they should be run out of business.

It's obvious this is a problem that is a design defect. We do not use the window much and when it happens you have to tape the window closed and it slides down . Rain gets in. I finally disassembled it and rigged it to stay closed. First the door lock failed then this. When researching, there were a lot more people who have this problem. I hope we can reach the right ears with this issue. Doesn't Jeep know this could affect us long time customers from another Jeep purchase.
