Liberty Renegade 3.2L V6

Our 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade has a rusted out rear control arm on the passenger side. While my daughter was pulling out of a parking lot she heard a thud noise from the back of the car and was having issues controlling the car. After inspecting it we found the broken rear control arm.

After researching it online we found the recall L27 and gave Jeep a call. The gentleman I talked to informed me that our VIN did not match the recall and he researched why and could not find a reason for it not to be listed. He told me to tow it to the dealership and gave me a case number, he said to have it checked out and if the issue in L27 was the problem that Jeep would honor the repair.

Well that was a big ol' lie and they refused to fix it at their expense and would not give me a reason why our Jeep was different from the recall. The recall states that it has to be manufactured between July 3, 2003 through July 4,2005, well mine is October 28,2003. The vehicle needs to be purchased or currently registered in select states and we live in Missouri which is listed. Vehicle must be between 2004 through 2007, well mines a 2005.

We were very lucky that our daughter had not been driving on the highway when this part broke because it could have been a pretty bad situation. But Jeep doesn't seem to be concerned with our safety, never again will I ever own anything from Chrysler.
