Liberty 4x4 Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

While driving the car at normal speeds, it will suddenly have a total loss of power and the engine sounds like it is falling apart and shaking. When I pull over and wait a few minutes it will start right up and no longer have the problem. This has happened about 10 times total over the years. Because it starts again, my mechanic says it is a computer problem. Wait til it doesn't start again and the see about fixing it?

Liberty LTD Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,565 miles

Vehicle started to lose power, shimmied, felt like it wasn't getting gas, finally stalled while on the freeway outside Palm Springs This had happened about 7 times before, very intermittently. Pulled over, shut engine off for a few minutes. Started and ran fine after. Have had this in to the dealer from the first year, they could never find a problem. Always starts again and runs fine, up to two years sometimes.
