Liberty Sport 3.7L V6

the light came on shortly before inspection time last year. my son-in-law has a scanner and it indicated a vacuum issue. we eventually replaced the gas cap but that has not corrected the issue. I have listed and issue with the gas gushing from the tank and wonder if it's all related.
