Liberty Limited 3.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,530 miles

bought jeep liberty from chevy dealer on 4/4/2014 with 50,474 miles on it. 5 days later while in driveway, opened top, snapping noise heard when closing it. took it jeep dealer bodyshop and manager helped duct tape it closed, which worked for a day or two. he gave preliminary estimate of approx. $1500. chevy dealer called me to bring the jeep for them to look at and evaluate overnight. did so and on way home noted greasy fingerprints on headliner from the greased track. did not mention as we were on still friendly terms. jeep assigned me a case # and did not give out any information for over 2 weeks, and then denied any responsibility of any kind. now trying to see if chevy dealers I bought vehicle and apparently worthless warranty for $1990 is willing to help out financially like they initially stated. hopefully someone will return my calls. this faulty item needs to be a recall with no expense to other victims taken for a "ride." I am looking into lemon law, bar association and better business bureau. I am not hopeful and feel a pain in my back that is daily moving lower. Chrysler does not stand by it's products anymore now that they have their bail-out money. they make "buy American" a joke and jeopardize their employees jobs by selling faulty products knowingly and not standing by them. Chrysler is a joke and I am not laughing. vehicle now has 50,732 miles and I pray for a long dry spell. initially top was just noisy now....totally busted due to cheap plastic parts.

Liberty Sport

  • Automatic transmission
  • 57,000 miles

I purchased a 2008 Jeep Liberty Sport. and it has 57,000 miles It has a sky slider/retractable top. I called Massey Yardley and spoke with Tommy in parts and also Mac Kelley who is the service manager. He told me that it is out of warranty. I tried to explain to him that this is a BIG problem with there tops and they know it. I also went to one of the repair shops who fixes them and he told me he has a huge problem with a lot of there jeeps with the top all with the same problem. There was also a Bulletin recall with a number and they refused to help me. So that is proof they know about this problem. ..This is a on going problem with the top breaking and yet they do not want to fix it. Also when I spoke to the general manager Mr Mac Kelley I asked to speak with someone higher up and he said there is no one else hire up to speak with.. I do not believe that for one minute. As I said there are many complaints about this issue and I feel they should take care of it!!! This should be a recall especially since it is a big problem with many many people whom has purchased this vehicle..If anyone has this issue call 1-888-327-4236 because if there is enough complaints they will make it a recall. I feel that Massey Yardley knows this is a huge problem and they should take care of it for there customers. People spend a lot of money on there cars to have to spend another 2,100.00 dollars to fix something that they know is a big problem it is really bad business. NEVER would I buy one of there products again.
