My Jeep Liberty started having this problem around 2014. If I drive and stop on a slight incline the brakes will start a grabbing grinding sound and will slowly stop. I cannot put it in reverse or drive, and the brake pedal is stiff and will not move. I have had to get it towed by a wrecker service to move it from the side of the road. If it sits for a couple of hours, when it cools off, sometimes it will start up and take off. I am always so thankful that it moves until I sometimes speed to get it home and off the road. When I purchased this car it cost me over $20,000.00. After I finished paying for it, I am afraid of it. I do not want to trade it and get someone else killed.
I took it to Chrysler's so-called repair shop, it cost me $1,000 for them to tell me the work was done by installing brakes, calipers, and new hoses. Now it is doing the same thing. I contacted Chrysler Customer Care. They told me I have to come back to the car shop take the repairman with me, and duplicate the incident before they can research the problem. I don't know when or where the the breaks are going to lock up, they just randomly do it. What is a person to do to get Chrysler Engineers to intervene?
