trans went out on our way home from a surgery for our daughter in dallas texas. the car made it back home barely, took to our dealership luckily we had bought a warranty with this car , we waited 5 months though to get the warranty company to kick in ,also went through 3 loaner cars from our dealership. no problem there but to wait 5 months... and the total cost was 4900.00 for the fix. our cost was 150.00 for a new cvt for this car. we will be trading it off very soon. not a very good car, very cheaply made.

Patriot V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

I had my transmission replaced in 2010 at 60,000 miles. Now I am up to 130,000 and similar problems have been occurring with my transmission. I have a lifetime powertrain warranty. However, each time I bring it in, of course the problem is not covered under warranty. I have paid for several repairs they promise will fix the issue and now my car is not even drive-able. Today they are saying again, a new problem popped up (since I brought it in 5 days ago) and that is not covered under warranty. My mechanic says he sees Jeep Patriots weekly with transmission problems. And that I need a new transmission, which they refuse to give me.

Patriot Sport 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,720 miles

My Jeep Patriot quits running while on highway. Going 70 then loss of power to 40 cars start swerving around me to avoid rear ending me. My passenger and their safety have been compromised on 2 occasions. Jeep is unable to pull a code therefore telling they cant do anything about it. What does one have to do to get something fix that is a safety hazard.
