Patriot

  • CVT transmission
  • 150,000 miles

2 years ago i bought a 2010 patriot, i have had several other jeeps previously. How ever i have never been more unhappy. driving home and my car decided on the interstate that it no longer wants to accelerate. i am at 150,500 warranty just expired and i have 2 years of payments, and a blown transmission. I have since found out that it is hardly worth replacing because it will likely happen again. This seems to be common with this year patriot.

Mitsubishi also had similar problems with a continual transmission but they recalled theirs.Jeep how ever has not.

Patriot Sport V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 69,116 miles

This is at 2010 Jeep Patriot. I bought it used with 24,000 miles ,one owner. I bought December 28, 2012. It has almost 70,000 miles on it. Most of those are highway miles due to driving my daughter to doctors appointments in another city. I took it to the Jeep dealership and was told that the transmission needed to be replaced. It will cost $4000 to replace it. That is insane. I've had to replace a transmission on a vehicle before but that vehicle had over a 150,000 miles on it and it cost $1200.00. I bought a Jeep because I needed the 4wheel drive and thought it would be reliable. As a single mother with one kid in college and another with a life threatening medical condition I don't have a extra $4000 laying around. I would expect better from an American made product.
