problem #1

Patriot 4.2L

  • Manual transmission
  • 20,000 miles

It had some issues when I took it back about a year and a half ago. Dealership didn't say anything about it. I took it in for a radio problem. It progressively got worse. 2nd gear was making noise, and it would jump out of 5th gear. Grind into 1st at a red light. No codes, so they said I was lying. Dealership calls me and says I need a new transmission. A "mechanic" told me it was the throw out bearing. $600 fix. Dealership is fixing it for no cost. 5 year/100,000 mile drivetrain warranty. It has less than 37,000 miles on it.

Update from Jul 8, 2018: They had me on foot for 6 days. I'm in a rental car now. They can take their sweet time now. Losing more money every day.

Update from Jul 23, 2018: They called me and said the parts were on order. Would be in in October. They had it in the end of June. I did get it back July 19th.
