wheel hub nut rust wheel hub nut rust

There is no reason that the wheel hubs should look this bad that I had less than 3 years at the time. Mind you this Jeep has never been off road, under water, on the beach, etc. It is just a daily driver.

They offered to "clean the wheel hub" for $345 or replace it for $1628. I ended up pulling the tire off, removing the nut and had a trusted mechanic friend take a look at it and we replaced the nut and clip for probably around 13 or so and less than an hours work. less than a year later though I had to replace the wheel bearings out of pocket for over $86.
