2013 Jeep Wrangler. Consumer writes in regards to intermittent engine problems, while driving up hills acceleration speeds decrease. The consumer stated upon driving up hills, the check engine light illuminated. The consumer stated after doing some research online, it appeared that another model was recalled for the same problem. Owners indicated the cam shaft sensors and dynamic sensor control needed a tcm update.

Wrangler

The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 55 mph, the crankshaft position sensor failed and the check engine light continued to illuminate. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and they confirmed that the sensor malfunctioned. He discovered a recall for the same exact failure with the 2004 Jeep Wrangler. The manufacturer stated that the failure was not under warranty and would not be covered, although he had a current 7-year powertrain warranty. The current and failure mileages were approximately 24,000.
