broken brake line broken brake line broken brake line

I was driving home with my family one day when I felt that my brakes were not responding as well as they should be. A few minutes later the parking brake light turned on and after consulting the owners manual I saw that there could be an issue with the brake fluid pressure so I opened the hood to check out my brake fluid and it was nearly empty. I bought some brake fluid at a gas station, filled up the tank, pumped my brakes and they felt much better. After that I drove straight to the shop and they told me that both my front brake lines were leaking.

Companies like Jeep/Chrysler should over engineer their braking systems to avoid situations like this. I so happy that I check cause if I did not me and my family could have been in a bad accident.

I tried to brake while on an on-ramp to a highway. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor-no brakes at all. I was able to slow down using the emergency brake, but not completely and rear-ended the car in front of me. Bumper damage to other car and my car. I looked under the Jeep and could see the broken brake line with the internal brake line connector rusted through. I did take pictures of the damaged brake line.

My Jeep was towed to a dealership for repairs. I have a lifetime bumper to bumper warranty which specifically covers every component of the brake system except the brake pads. Chrysler service center refused to allow the repairs due to the wreck and told me that they were apprehending my vehicle for five business days for an "inspection". I was refused a rental car during this time. Five business days have elapsed, I was notified that the inspection was complete, but Chrysler still refuses to return my vehicle to me. The WORTHLESS and rude customer service center has told me that I have no rights to the vehicle since they are "inspecting" it and "the process just takes time". They still will not provide me alternative transportation while they keep my vehicle without my permission or consent. This is, without a doubt, the worst customer service ever! They have essentially stolen my vehicle and will not give it back. I own this car outright. I have now had to engage an attorney in order to regain possession of MY car.

I had no idea that a company such as Chrysler could take my vehicle and keep it indefinitely without my authorization under any circumstance, but apparently they think they can do just that. I intend to file a lawsuit now based on the way that I have been treated by this company. Any other similar experience or words of advice would be appreciated.
