Wrangler Sport 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,000 miles

I started my 2010 wrangler unlimited. First I noticed the wipers were going but the switch wiper lever was in the OFF position. None of the controls on the wheel would respond, and when I attempted to shift I was baffled as the shifter would not come out of park!!! Also I then noticed the headlights had come on as well. Also there was no mileage or temperature readings on the dash. I tried to reset the computer by undoing the battery, and I checked all the fuses and relays. Had it towed to a jeep dealer where they ran 2.4 hours of diagnostics to tell me they THINK they have it narrowed down to a faulty instrument cluster. They ordered it telling me that Chrysler gets them from United radio, then a week later they tell me oh no, they now have been told they get this cluster from Flight Controls? They gave and shipping date of July 2nd, about ten days . My 25 thousand dollar jeep has been in the shop for 15 days already!!!!! And that's where we stand as of right now. I also have read online that there was this exact situation reported by a few people with their 08 Jeep Liberties. (EXACT SYMPTOMS) Apparently there was a TSB issued for the Liberty for this issue! But I have not found a Bulletin for the same issue on wranglers. I know I am beyond 36000 miles now, but JEEP has got to take some responsibility for these malfunctions.
