Wrangler Sahara 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,000 miles

At 18,000 miles this Jeep Sahara had significant brake issues. It was randomly noticed one day when the issue started. When coming to a stop the brake pedal almost went to the floor and created a very odd sensation. The weirdest part of the problem was that it was that it did it randomly; not all of the time.

This occurred the day after the radiator went on this vehicle. Chrysler tried to tell me that the cause of the issue could be that something got on the brake pads. We have certified mechanics in the family that explained that it would be nearly impossible for a random substance to cause random lack of braking power; it would've burnt off the brakes in one braking motion. Chrysler disagreed and opted to change the brake pads, turn the rotors (which i protested), and replaced the master cylinders. The problem is currently fixed but we do not believe that the Jeep is safe to continue operation of the vehicle and we do not think the repairs were justified given the circumstances of the problem. Chrysler also tried to charge me $400.00 because the pads and other parts were no longer covered under warranty.

The dealership doing the work ended up footing the bill for the parts. This same day; it was discovered that the Jeep was STILL leaking water after 5 repair attempts it's still leaking. the dealership is now working with chrysler to take further action. If you're having repeated issues with your jeep; don't be afraid to talk it over with your dealership and let it be known and don't back down. I've been a loyal Jeep owner for years and I love the vehicles they make but my recent purchase has been, in fact, a LEMON, and no buyer should have to pay for a faulty vehicle. Please see my other issues with this jeep in the complaints. good luck
