The cracking of the oil cooler/filter housing has been a problem with several model years on several Chrysler vehicles: to wit, my 2013 Wrangler Sahara is one that is included. The Jeep 3.6 was bought from the Georgia/Florida area and when I brought it back to Illinois, the temperature was cold, and the next day I started and drove it a short distance and parked it in the garage. The next day I noticed a pool of oil on the floor under the engine area. When I viewed the under portion of the engine it was plain to see that the oil leak was coming from the left rear area of the engine and landing on the exhaust cross pipe as well as farther back on the under area of the body of the Wrangler.
When I checked the cost to repair, I learned that it would be over $1,000.00. I was further informed that the garage has performed this repair on over 50 Chrysler products with the 3.6 engine and also Chrysler has not improved the problem. It would be replaced with a housing just like the old on which would be expected to crack. I checked ebay and found thousands of the housings have been sold. This is a big defect, why hasn't Chrysler had a recall on this problem and improved the housings?

The Jeep Wrangler is an amazing vehicle. I absolutely love it. The fact that Chrysler has not come up with a better solution for this problem, is mind boggling. It's a guarantee this will happen if you have a Pentastar engine.
Then there is the Hemi. That is an amazing engine. Make the Pentastar more like the Hemi for reliability.
