problem #2

Dec 042023

Wrangler Sahara 3.6L Pensatar

  • Automatic transmission
  • 73,763 miles

Bought jeep for use in winter for me and my wife. bought the service warranty for 3,285.00 dollars to cover drivetrain for 48 months or 48,000 miles. Had car fixed and dealer told me the oil filter and cooler were not covered by warranty. It is bolted to engine, under intake fuel system . engine cannot be run without it! Being a naval engineer tells me this is without a doubt a crucial part of the drivetrain! not warrantying said repair is unacceptable

Wrangler Oscar Mike 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,000 miles

Well, Chrysler has put the shaft to me again. A severe oil leak caused by the cracking of the oil cooler/filter housing. This is a defect with the 3.6 engine in all their vehicles. They have got to be aware of this problem by the number of housing units that they have sold. And by the way, when you buy a new housing, it is just like the old one and it will crack as time goes on.

I had my 2015 Wrangler, unlimited, oscar mike housing replaced and was told that it has not been improved. So be ready to spend over $1,000.00 for replacement. This is a major problem even if you are blessed with only replacing the housing and not destroying the engine or causing a fire. There should be a recall for this problem.
