Forte EX 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 63,757 miles

I was driving down the freeway and all of the sudden the engine lost power and started making noise. I took it to the dealer and it needs a new engine and we are waiting to see if warranty will cover it. I purchased a separate bumper to bumper warranty in addition to Kia so we will see.

Forte EX 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 158 miles

When driving in ECO mode at approximately 40mph, the car will suddenly lose power and shudder. Pressing on the accelerator yields no acceleration. The car just stumbles for 10-15 seconds, then accelerates SLOWLY. I can reproduce this time after time, but the dealer claims they can't reproduce it. I was told to just keep driving it and let the transmission "learn" my driving habits. This is dangerous, because it happens when I try to pass someone.
