Optima EX 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54,000 miles

Does it randomly on different settings. Went to dealership and they said it was too difficult for them to diagnose, so I needed to authorize 4 hours for them to figure it, and even then they may not be able to do so! Besides, they stated "it is out of warranty." And to boot, they wanted to do it at their mechanical rate which is upwards of $125 per hour. $500 to "see" if the could figure it out. Wow.

Went to an independent mechanic and they quoted me 2 hours and stated it was most likely an actuator, Decided to live with it since it was a Kia and what did I expect.
