Motor vehicle part defect- spare tire carrier assembly was defective, as I was unable to remove the spare tire from the carrier after having a flat tire on the interstate. The carrier's threads seemed to be defective, as I was unable to lower or raise the carrier assembly. I contacted the Kia dealership about the problem, but the service director refused to fix the issue unless I was willing to pay for the replacement of defective parts. I refused since the spare tire assembly has never been used until September 2, 2006, when I had a flat tire on the interstate and discovered this defective part.
