Bought a van the next day my breaks were metal on metal. I found out it was flooded. The second day the key stuck in the ignition, the middle seats got stuck and will not fold up. The dealer said their mechanic went all over the van and said it was in good condition. The calipers are in very bad shape. He said they need replaced soon.

The driver's seat became unsecured on the front side, so only the rear of the driver's seat is secured in place. If I lean back or accelerate quickly the entire seat tilts back. Initially this occurred when I was stopped, as I leaned back to reach into my pocket to grab my wallet. But now it won't refasten, so it occurs when stationary or in motion.

Shortly after warranty expired (early 2012), the air bag light went on our Kia Sedona. I took the van to our local Kia dealer to check and they told me that it was the weight classification seat sensor assembly (part 88610 - $1399.75 at that time) that had to be replaced. After labor cost and taxes it would be $2022!! Kia was having some recalls around that time, but none to address this issue. The main reason we bought this van for our family was because of high safety ratings involving all the airbags. Now we are driving without airbags and praying for extra angels around the van when we have to go on the highway. We would like to take long road trips, but that seems too dangerous without airbags. Please investigate and you will find out it is a common issue with this make and model. Kia needs to step it up and fix this issue; lives are at stake. Thank you!

My 12 year old daughter was adjusting the seat back in the rear row of the Kia Sedona - when she unlatched the adjustment latch the rear seat back sprung forward (she was facing the rear to see the seat move) with such force that it hit her in the mouth and drove her bottom braces through her bottom lip - she required immediate medical attention to unhook the braces and then plastic surgery to close the wound (6 stitches in both the inside and outside of her mouth).
