Sedona LX 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 205,000 miles

After a ride in the town I came back to my home and just steering to the garage I felt like a muted explosion (like a coke when you open it but a little higher) and the smoke raise slowly but immediately. After that I checked down and a flame was around the exhaust manifold in the back part of the engine. It takes me no more than 2 second to extinguish the fire but some damages was suffered in the plastic parts of the engine.

When we check with an specialist on the vehicle, we realized that the steering hose was in contact with the exhaust manifold which burned the isolation material of the hose and therefore the steering oil disrupted over the hot parts of the engine and caused all that fire. It is an experience that I don't desire on anyone in this world. It is not supposed to be that a vehicle (used for family) have this kind of vulnerabilities, just imagine if this occurs while driving in the highway or when I buy something for my kids when they are inside the vehicle. It is an excellent vehicle but they must work harder in the security.
