problem #1

Jun 052017

Sorento LX 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 28,850 miles

I bought the vehicle used in January, 2016 with 20,000 something miles on it. I first noticed it surging March of 2016. Being it was due for an oil change in June 2016, I waited till then when I took it to the dealer and told them of the surging problem. They informed me they would set up another date when I could bring it in and they would try and figure out the problem. On August 7th I sent them an email stating that maybe it could be the Vehicle Speed Sensor or the Engine Control Module. On the 8th they called and confirmed an appointment for the 22nd of August. On the 9th I called their service reprsenative back and told her I would like a technician ride with me to show them the problem. On the 22nd I had vehicle there at 8;00 A.M. 11:30 A.M. one of the owners came and told me they couldn't find anything wrong with the surging issue and maybe I could bring it back some other time and they would check into it further. I took him for a ride and he immediately felt the surging problem I was referring to and didn't know why his tech couldn't feel it. On 9-14-2017 I received a call from the dealer and said they had found an exact 2016 Sorento and test drove it and it did nothing that mine was doing. So they wanted mine back to compare. On 9-28-17 the dealer told me the issue had been esculated to the engineers and would give me a call when to bring it in. On the 29th or August, the dealer called me and give me customer services phone # and told me to call them and to not be nice with them as they were aware what was going on. They opened a case on the vehicle also. I could write four more pages of this BS, but don't have the room. One visit I sat at the dealers for 9 1/2 hours while they consulted with their "engineers", which I was told would take anywhere between 10 and 20 minutes for the tech to confir with the engineers. After 9 1/2 hours I was sent home with nothing resolved. Last visit, 10-25-17 a factory rep was there and they did a update to the transmission and he informed me that one of the problems may be the circumference of the tires since they were wearing down on tread, 38,000 miles, and this may be part of the problem??? I called the service rep back on 10-26-17 and he said he would get back to the factory rep with the issues, again, and would let me know what he had to say. As of 11-9-17 I have yet to hear from the dealer or the factory rep. Any ideas out there anyone?? 1200 miles to the dealer and back for service and they haven't done a thing....

Update from Dec 8, 2017: Since the last time, my complaint has been elevated to the KIA Escelation Team. Whomever that is. They informed me that maybe a claim of action should be in place. But still have not heard anything definite.
