Dry rot in Michelin synchrone tires: At 23926 miles the dealer's service advisor expressed concern about dry rot in tires that were date-stamped as made in Jan & Feb 2002. Both the dealer, Land Rover Inc. (the car is a 2002 Freelander SE with 225/55R17 tires) and a local retailer, discount tire co., advised replacement of all four tires. A 'dry rot' rating test is needed for consumer saftey!
