I was hoping that maybe some rubbing compound would solve the problem when the small scratches first appeared on the clear finish. This was a year ago and now the scratches have become bigger cracks in the paint finish and I'm noticing rust stains coming from the cracks. The clear finish seems to have gone away. I went to an auto body shop to get an estimate. The guy said this is so common for Toyotas, especially Camrys, Tacomas and ES350s. He said to do the roof, trunk and hood, he would have to sand down to the metal to get rid of the rust. He gave me a $1500 estimate. I am trying to search for some kind of class action suit that i could sign up for to get some kind of compensation for a bad product. Had I known this would happened, I would have never considered purchasing this car.
